Kaplan University offers certificates through Master’s degrees with programs relating to medical assisting, and transcription. Grand Canyon University offers Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. Many students choose to pursue an education in order to become a certified nursing assistant (CNA). A CNA operates under other medical staff to provide routine care for a patient. Taking an online program has disadvantages in spite of the many benefits to those with busy schedules. For instance, taking a program online does not give a student the benefit of having a teacher to ask questions of in person, though many community college professors will provide office hours if the student is willing to travel to campus. With enough motivation and dedication to education, however, somebody who wants to become a nurse can complete an online program quickly.
